ST standard limits for phthalates new requirements are summarized below:
1 clear plastics materials include polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyurethane (PU) and rubber;
(2) specify the toys (the Japanese "Implementation Regulations of the Food Sanitation Law" toy listed in section 78) in, DEHP, DBP or BBP in levels should not exceed 0.1% of the total plastics materials;
3 Specify the toy directly in contact with the baby mouth parts, DINP, DIDP or DNOP the content should not exceed 0.1% of the total plastics materials;
4 Specify the toys that are not directly in contact with the baby mouth parts, DINP content should not exceed synthesized mainly by the artificial PVC resin 0.1% of the total;
5 with the artificial PVC resin is not available for pacifier or teether;
6. For use by children under the age of 6 non-specific toys, DEHP levels should not exceed the total amount of PVC resin, synthetic man-made 0.1%;
7. Toys and infant oral direct contact with the part, DINP content should not exceed the main man-made from PVC synthetic resin of the total 0.1%;
8. Phthalates test method in accordance with food safety law containing PVC and PVC-free materials, different test methods have been revised.
August 23, in the future, the toy companies who wish to apply for certification ST, you can apply the new standards, but in September 5, 2011 before the application can still use the original standard.
Phthalates are widely used as a plasticizer of PVC, rubber products, including children's toys and baby bottles, cups and other children's supplies.
